Review:

If you have been channeling surfing this week, then you probably noticed a slew of Christmas movies on cable channels, especially on the Hallmark Channel. It seems there is at least one new holiday movie premiering ever week, including Northpole, which will make its debut on the Hallmark Channel this Saturday November 15, 2014 and it will land on DVD on November 18th. A sequel is already in the works for next year.

Directed by Douglas Barr (Secrets of the Mountain), the film centers on a young boy, Kevin (played by Charles Max) and his mother, Chelsea (played by Tiffani Thessen), whom have recently moved to to a small town. While his mother starts her new job as a journalist at the local newspaper office, Kevin struggles to meet friends at his new school. His life takes an unexpected turn when he finds a present in his bedroom - a red ham radio which he uses to communicate with a girl named Clementine (played by Bailee Madison).

It turns out that Clementine is actually an elf that works for Santa Claus (played by Robert Wagner) at the Northpole. She is on a mission to save Christmas and she needs Kevin's help to find out why the town's children aren't happy. When children aren't happy, it affects the Northern Lights which automatically effects the Northpole.

Get The Best Buy For The LG OLED TV

While the holiday shopping season use to officially start the day after Thanksgiving on Black Friday, many stores are staring their sales now, which gives shoppers more time to find the best deals at the best prices. Many of you will be lining up in the department stores on Thanksgiving night to buy TVs that are on sale, but in most cases the store will only have a few TVs in stock. The rest of you will be given a receipt for your purchase and you'll either have to wait until more TVs come in stock or you can get on the internet and place your order with an activation code, but you'll still have to wait in line online until it is your turn as everyone else in the country will be on there wanting to place their orders too.

It would be a lot easier if you would start your holiday shopping right now. You should think ahead and purchase all of those big ticket items now and avoid the crazy holiday rush.

Best Buy has a huge selections of televisions in their stores and on their website, including the LG OLED TV, which is priced at Best Buy’s everyday price of $3499.99 (save $500).

Review:

While seeing a quilt-themed book may turn off some readers, I have enjoyed reading the Quilts of Love series, which every new installment has a new plot and set of characters that are written by a different author. Quilted by Christmas by Jodie Bailey was released to bookstores last month. Typically, I'm not in the mood for Christmas in November, but I have found myself watching a couple holiday movies on the Hallmark Channel and I have read a couple of Xmas-themed books as well, so I went ahead and signed up to review this book.

Quilted by Christmas centers on Taryn McKenna, a young woman who has had a rocky life with the death of her parents and the breakup with her high school sweetheart, Justin Callahan, who left her to join the army. She promised that she would never trust her heart to anybody ever again. She is determined to finish her college degree and to be a successful teacher to middle graders. Then of course she is going to continue to look after Grandma Jemma.

Then the unthinkable happens - Grandma Jemma has a heart attack! With her health declining fast, Grandma Jemma is going to teach Taryn how to sew an Irish Chain quilt, a tradition that has been in their family for years. The quilt will be for Taryn's cousin Rachel as a wedding present.

Review:

Being a book reviewer has its ups and downs, well, at least for me it does. There are times when I get behind on reviewing and I have to shove some books aside to focus on those that I'm stuck with a specific post date in a book blog tour. Unfortunately, I sometimes forgot about these books completely, which is what happened with The Doll by Taylor Stevens, a book I had signed up to review back in April or May. Luckily, I have been doing some fall cleaning and found the book last week.

The Doll centers on Vanessa Michael Munroe who is kidnapped on the streets of Dallas and is forced to work for the Doll Maker, a crazed "baddie" who kidnaps famous and beautiful girls for rich clients. One of these clients has their eyes on a rock star, Neeva, which is why the Doll Maker grabbed Munroe, as the Doll Maker want her to escort the lovely rocker to the client's location.

Of course Munroe tries to resists, but it seems the Doll Maker is one step ahead of her and threatens the life of one of her dearest friends - Logan. Munroe is known for being a chameleon and a hunter, but her skills will be put to the ultimate test in this intense thriller.

Blu-ray Review - Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Lost Missions

Arriving on Blu-ray from executive-producer George Lucas is the exciting conclusion to the Emmy Award-Winning series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, titled Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Lost Missions, which features all 13 episodes from the final season. Bonus Features include Never-Before-Seen - 16-Minute Documentary Celebrating The Entire "Clone Wars" Series With Riveting Behind-The-Scenes Footage and 4 Additional Unfinished Story Reels.

A feature film was released in October 2008 and quickly followed by the debut of the television series which aired on the Cartoon Network until the end of the fifth season. The Walt Disney company bought Lucasfilms in 2012 and officially canceled the series in 2013, but 13 episodes were still in development at the time. These episodes aired exclusively on Netflix in early 2014 and is known as "The Lost Missions," which lands on Blu-ray and DVD this week. "The Lost Missions" sets up the event that will occur in "Revenge of the Sith."

The 13 episodes on the 2 disc set are:

Review: Phineas & Ferb: Star Wars DVD

*This is a sponsored review. All opinions are 100% mine.

2D animation is becoming a thing of the past, but there are a few them still around cable channels, including Phineas & Ferb, which its fourth season is currently being aired on Disney XD. While the future of the series is in limbo, fans can grab their hands on Phineas & Ferb: Star Wars that will arrive on DVD this Tueaday November 11, 2014. As an added bonus there are 5 bonus episode along with a Perry-In-Carbonite Keychain.

The Star Wars special aired back in July on the Disney Channel and Disney XD. There have several other series (Robot Chicken, Family Guy) that have crossed over with the Star Wars franchise, mostly retelling the original trilogy, but that isn't the case with this special. Here we get an original Phineas & Ferb adventure that happens to take place during Star Wars - Episode IV: A New Hope.

In the new spin on the tale, Phineas and Ferb are living with their parents on the planet Tattooin and they happen to be living close to Luke Skywalker (voiced by Christopher Corey Smith). Meanwhile, Perry the platypus is part the Rebel Alliance and steals a CD containing the Death Star plans and gives the plans to Princess Leia. After the Star Destroyer intercepts their ship, Princess Leia inserts the CD into R2-D2 for safe keeping. C-3PO (voiced by Simon Pegg) and R2-D2 hop into an escape pod, but three Imperial stormtroopers, Candace Flynn, Baljeet Tjinder and Buford van Stomm, are hot on their trail and of course Perry isn't too far behind them either.
