Happy Friday, fellow readers!
This week's book pick is the new horror thriller Killing the Boogeyman by Richard Chizmar, the final book in the Boogeyman trilogy. Sometime or another, I read the other two books, Chasing the Boogeyman and Becoming the Boogeyman, and you can find the reviews somewhere on this blog.
Note: The Friday Book Snippet is hosted by Anne @ My Head is Full of Books and Olivia @ Bemused and Bookish.
Book Beginnings:
When I was twelve years old my best friend Jimmy Cavanaugh hooked me in back of my shoulder while we were casting our lines for catfish in Hanson Creek.
— Chizmar, Richard. Killing the Boogeyman, Gallery Books, 2026, p. 5.
The Friday 56:
Determined not to make a jackass of myself for the second time in as many hours, I walked over to check it out.

Those quotes aren't too creepy. But the title of the book definitely gives off the spooky vibes.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fictionalized true crime horror/thriller, where the author is a character in his own book.
DeleteBoth of those quotes make me wonder what’s up next.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering the same thing. I haven't started reading it yet.
DeleteI had a laugh over your description of the other two books in the series being read sometime and they are somewhere on the blog. Ha!
ReplyDeleteI was always surprised at how many folks out there love scary-terrifying-horror books. It was the top choice of many.
