Book Blogger Hop: 'Book Community Pet Peeves'

Welcome to the Book Blogger Hop!

This Week's Prompt:

What’s your biggest pet peeve about the book community?

My Answer:

I have a pet peeve about readers who intentionally crack the spines of paperbacks. While I understand that it can sometimes happen due to the quality of the book, I don’t see why some readers would pull the front cover and pages back, causing damage to the spine.

  1. I had someone I loaned books to, and they came back that way. It was so frustrating.

    1. I don't loan books out anymore. I did let my late grandmother borrow books, but they always returned them. Though one grandmother would write either my name or initials inside the book, I don't like writing in books either.

  2. Oh yes, this makes me cringe! Like it hurts my heart seeing that happen, like actual chest pains!

  3. If I have a hard time reading the words on the page, I sometimes I have to bend the spine back to read them. Sometimes it breaks.

  4. I have to admit, that one makes me cringe a little too! Accidental spine creases happen, but I could never intentionally crack a book’s spine. Happy Reading!

  5. Oh that is definitely a peeve of mine. That and dog-earring. (is that a correct way to say that?)
