3. Visit other blogs in the list and comment on their posts. Try to spend some time on the blogs reading other posts and possible become a new follower.  The purpose of the hop is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

My Answer:

No, I wouldn't recommend anyone to start a book blog. Don't get me wrong, blogging can be fun, but it can also be really stressful, especially when you get behind in your reading for a few book tours. However, I would recommend using Goodreads.

  1. I know what you mean about getting behind on your reading for book tours....it's happened to me. This is why I no longer review books for tours. Besides, I don't want to be under pressure to post a favorable review.

In other ways, though, blogging is, indeed, lots of fun! Also, when you're totally free to review the books you're really interested in, it's just GREAT!!

I would only encourage someone to post their thoughts online if I thought it would help them express themselves -- whether on a blog, Goodreads, or Amazon. Of course, if they didn't want to do that, I would never push them.

Happy Friday, and Happy Hopping!! :)

  2. I encourage folks, but usually get negative results.

It is a commitment and difficult for some.

I really enjoy the interaction among other bloggers and readers.

Have a great weekend, and Happy Hopping!!

  3. I haven't really encouraged people to blog but I have suggested Goodreads a time or two.

  4. I suppose I would offer encouragement and support to someone in my life who showed an interest in reviewing or blogging, but for the most part, those in my offline life who like to read aren't really interested in either.

  5. I agree. While this is something I enjoy, it's not for everyone.
