Book-Shaped Cake Pan Review & Giveaway

As almost all of my blog readers already know, my two main passions is reading an intriguing novel and drinking a cup of java, but some of you may not know that I also have a passion for cooking and baking. No, I'm not a professional chef or baker, but I do cook my own meals daily and occasionally bake some goodies to munch on, normally a cookie or brownie to go with with coffee.

I'm sure there are many people that buy cakes at Walmart or at baking shop for birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. Though on rare occasions, I will eat one or two pieces of these cakes (which is normally my own birthday cake), I prefer to make my own. Like I already said, I'm not a baker, so I only have access to regular nine-inch round cake pans and 13x9 baking pans.

I frequently keep an eye out for any interesting products that I can request to review on Tomoson and luckily I got a chance to review a Book-Shaped Cake Pan sponsored by GoneReading, a website featuring any and every book related product. GoneReading donates 100% of after-tax profits to help fund libraries and reading-related charities.

With my love for reading and my fondness for baking, I eagerly requested to review it. Viola! and just a few days later,  I received the pan in the mail.

The Book-Shaped Cake Pan is made by Wilton, a well-known company that makes the best baking pans and accessories. The pan is 16″ wide x 12″ tall x 2-1/2″ deep and requires three cake mixes. Yes, I said three cake mixes! Each pan comes with baking instructions. I recommend either purchasing two 13x19 cake boards or making your own by wrapping foil or parchment paper around cardboard. The pan takes 14 cups of batter and takes 60-70 minutes to bake. Though the instructions recommend using Wilton icing, I just made my own frosting using two bags of powder sugar. The cake pan is made-well and it is easy to use. Make sure to grease the pan with a non-stick baking spray before adding the batter. Never put the pan in a dishwasher; only wash the pan by hand with soap and water. Overall, the Book-Shaped Cake Pan is a cute cake pan that any book lover would love to get their hands on.

Please take not that the photos I used are from the ones provided Tomoson and GoneReading. I don't have the best camera and my pictures had too much of a glare on them for me to post on here. I tried taking a picture with my cell phone, but I couldn't get all of the cake in the picture.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
