Kicking Horse Kick Ass Coffee Review & Giveaway

While I was busy raking the leaves in my front yard on Saturday afternoon, the mail man delivered a box with the Kicking Horse Coffee logo on it. There is nothing better than a hot cup of coffee on a cool fall afternoon. Therefore, I dropped the rake and brought the box inside the house with the intention of brewing some java.

Let me give you a little brief history on the Kicking Horse Coffee brand. Kicking Horse Coffee started out as a kick-starter company, selling coffee from a garage. They roast small amounts of selective coffee beans and package them on the same to ensure the coffee freshness, which freshness is the company's highest priority.

What makes Kicking Horse Coffee different from other brands? Well, all their roasted coffee is made from organic coffee beans. Since 2007, Kicking Horse Coffee has become the number one specialty coffee being sold in the Canadian grocery stores! The brand offers many different flavors of whole coffee beans, such as Hoodoo Jo, Grizzly Claw, Decaf Cliff Hanger Espresso, Jumbo Wild, Pacific Pipeline and many others.

What kind of coffee did I get?

Well, I received one of their most famous coffees - Kick Ass (12.3 oz can). Yep, the name says it all. Kick Ass is a dark coffee with a sweet smoky flavor and it is popular with athletics, as one cup of coffee will give anyone a bolt of energy for a morning workout.

As soon as I pulled off the lid to the can, an aroma of sweet coffee beans bliss hit my nostrils. As you can see from the picture below, the coffee beans have been wonderfully roasted.

After one sniff of the coffee beans, I had a taste for a hot cup of coffee, so I ground a small amount in a Ninja chopper, as I don't have a grinder, but the chopper does a great job of grounding coffee beans. I set up everything in my coffee maker and pressed the ON button. Then I went back outside and finished raking the leaves. By the time I had finished raking, the coffee had finished brewing.

How did it taste?

The cup of Kick Ass coffee tasted, actually I had several more cups of coffee, incredible. Just like the label says, it has a sweet smoky flavor and it is really smooth, and this coming for someone that tried many brands of coffee. Kicking Horse Coffee is the best whole bean coffee I have ever had!

Kicking Horse Coffee is available at retailers throughout Canada and US, on their Online Store as well as on Amazon.com!
