Review:

On May 14th, 2013, Nickelodeon will be releasing Team Umizoomi: Animal Heroes on DVD, featuring four exciting episodes, which I received an advanced copy free of charge in exchange for my honest review.

The preschooler series debuted in 2010 and is more popular than ever. Team Umizoomi blends animation with live-action characters. The main characters are the animated tiny superheroes, Milli (Her powers are related to patterns and measuring.), Geo (Milli's younger brother. His power is the ability to read geometric shapes.), and Bot (a robot). The group goes on action-adventures (interacting with the audience). Typically, they help a friend find a lost item.

The episodes on this release are:

Purple Monkey Mission - Milli, Geo, and Bot are excited to see the newest addition to the Umi City Zoo, a purple monkey, but the monkey is left at the cold Penguin House. It is up to the Team Umizoomi to guide him to the Monkey Jungle.

Buster the Lost Dog - Team Umizoomi has their hands full trying to rescue Buster the dog, who jumped into a back of a truck.

Cuckoo Bears - The poplar Cuckoo Bears band from the Umi City Cuckoo Clock have lost their gears and can no longer play music. It is up to the Team Umizoomi to find the missing gears.

Animal School Rocks
-Farmer Dan's mice, chickens, pigs and a donkey have gone missing and it is up to Team Umizoomi to track the animals down and return them to the farm.

Team Umizoomi is a charming series that is educational for kids. My favorite from this release is the Cuckoo Bears episode. Each episode has an adventure, which the character interacts with the kids watching at home. The characters are teaching kids about shapes, colors, and math. For a limited time, there is a free Team Umizoomi Activities with the DVD. Overall, Team Umizoomi: Animal Heroes is a great educational DVD for kids.
