A Very Merry Golden Records Christmas Review & Giveaway

Do you remember your parents or grandparents playing those vinyl records? Then you probably remember the Golden Records for children, containing classic stories and songs for young ones and old ones young at heart.

Golden Records have been making a comeback this year by releasing old and new records onto CDs and MP3 for a whole new generation of fans to enjoy. They were nice enough to let me listen to A Very Merry Golden Records Christmas, which is part of their Celebrity Series, free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

With Christmas just only a few weeks ago, there is nothing better to get your family in the holiday spirits than listening to wonderful Christmas music. A Very Merry Golden Records Christmas brings back twenty timeless classics, blending in new celebrity voices with the original music and sound effects. Some of the voice talents are Ed Asner, Didi Conn, Cheryl Hines, Wallace Shawn and Dermot Mulroney.

The Tracks List Includes:

  1. Merry, Merry, Merry, Christmas (Didi Conn and The Golden Orchestra)
  2. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town (John O Hurley)
  3. Jingle Bells (Malin Akerman)
  4. 12 Days Of Christmas (Missi Pyle)
  5. A Christmas Carol (Wallace Shawn)
  6. Crackerjack Christmas (The Golden Orchestra)
  7. I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas (Didi Conn)
  8. Christmas Morning (Sabelle and The Golden Orchestra)
  9. Winter Wonderland (Dermot Mulroney)
  10. Frosty The Snowman Story (Busy Philipps)
  11. Frosty The Snowman (John O Hurley)
  12. Little Stowaway On Santas Sleigh (Missi Pyle)
  13. Sleigh Ride (Dermot Mulroney and The Golden Orchestra)
  14. I Dreamed That I Was Santa Claus (The Golden Orchestra)
  15. When Santa Claus Gets Your Letter (Malin Akerman)
  16. Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer Story (Cheryl Hines)
  17. Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer (John O Hurley)
  18. Reindeer Dance (Missi Pyle)
  19. I Just Cant Wait Till Christmas (The Golden Orchestra)
  20. Twas The Night Before Christmas Story (Ed Asner)
Even though the majority of these songs haven't been played on the radio in awhile, I have heard most of them on Christmas movies/cartoons over the years. Some of my favorites on this CD are I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas, Frosty the Snowman, I Dreamed That I Was Santa, and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. The new celebrity voices add a new twist on these classics, which would be perfect to listen to at a classroom holiday party, an office party, or at home when you are unwrapping gifts with your family on Christmas morning.

  1. There is something about Dermot Mulroney's voice on that song - such a nice song to listen to! Christmas isn't too far now!
