Friday Ramblings & Friday Blog Hops

Since I never get around to posting a rambling on a Thursday, I decided to start posting Friday Ramblings. I hope everyone likes the new picture with this post.

Dead to the World (TV Tie-In): A Sookie Stackhouse Novel (Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood)Yes, I'm still behind in my ebook reviewing, I'm getting started tomorrow (fingers crossed). I did managed to post several new book reviews this week, and I started reading Dead to the World by Charlanie Harris, but I'm only on page 11. lol! I'm going to read some more before episode two of the fourth season of True Blood, which airs  this Sunday. Did anyone watch it last Sunday? What did you think of it? I wonder if Gary Cole will come back for more episodes? What was up with Bill at the end of it?
Just Go With ItI watched the remake of True Grit and Adam Sandler's Just Go With It. I liked True Grit. I have never read the book or seen the old. The latter was because of my distaste for John Wayne movies. I'm more of a Clint Eastwood fan. I thought Just Go With It was better than the advertisments. I didn't have much hope for it because of all the bad reviews I read about it, but I enjoyed the movie for what it was.
Wolfsbane (Discarded Heroes, Book 3)I received Wolfsbane by Ronie Kendig in the mail this week. It looks like a good read.

Blog of the Week: http://erika-letstalkaboutbooks.blogspot.com/

Question of the Week: ACK! Your favorite book/movie character (example Hermione Granger played by the Emma chick) just walked into the room! Who is it and what would be your first reaction? You get extra points if you include visual stimulation.

My answer: Since I'm reading Dead to the World and I'm watching True Blood, I would have to pick Sookie Stackhouse. If she walked into the room, I would try not to react because she can read thoughts.

Question of the Week: “What keeps you reading beyond the first few pages of a book, and what makes you want to stop reading a book and put it back on the shelf?“

My answer: If it is a new author, a good plot will keep me turning the pages. If it is boring or not my taste, I'll put the book down. Sometimes I keep reading just so I can finish the book and get on to the next book.

  4. I try not to quit reading books, but once in a while I have to if the book just can't grab me. Good point on Sookie Stackhouse, she'd know whatever you thought!

  5. I don't know why I keep reading a book. It's not the story. It's not the characters. I really don't know!

  7. These book blogger hop questions just get better and better. This one looks easy but I think it’s a trick question. We all know it’s the same answer – the writing – but we all have different perspectives of what good writing is.

Hop on over to my blog at http://www.howardsherman.net and read my three-prong answer as I explain why I’ll decide to pick up a book or put it down in under sixty seconds.

    Happy July 4th Weekend!

  9. Just dropping by for the blog hop. I sometimes review books from publishers, so I can identify with the feeling of just persevering though the book so you can get on to the next one.

  10. Hopping through. It'd be fascinating to meet Sookie, but I wouldn't want her to read my mind.
