Book Description:

When the Christmas season finds Eden in Summer Harbor, Maine, she's on the run from trouble. Romance is the last thing on her mind.:

Riding in a bus in the thickly falling snow, Eden Davis wonders how it ever came to this-fleeing under cover of night with young Micah sleeping fitfully in the seat beside her. When a winter storm strands them in Summer Harbor, Maine, Eden wonders if what might have been the end could be a new beginning.:

Beau Callahan is a habitual problem-solver. He's recently left his job with the sheriff's department to take over the family Christmas tree farm to save it from insolvency. But he's flummoxed. During the busiest season of the year, he's shorthanded. Then Eden shows up looking for work, and Beau believes he's been rescued. Competent, smart, and beautiful, Eden's also guarded and quiet. He soon figures out she comes with a boatload of secrets. But Beau can't seem to help himself from falling for her.

As Christmas Eve approaches, Beau discovers he'll do anything to keep Eden safe. But who's going to protect his heart from a woman who can't seem to trust again?

Billy's Thoughts:

Buying a gift for a book lover might seem easy at first, but it in reality it's sort of challenging as you never know what books they already own. If this person you're buying for is a romance reader, then your best bet is to go with a holiday themed novel, which there are plenty of them out in bookstores this time of year.

Recently released from Thomas Nelson is the newest book from Denise Hunter, titled Falling Like Snowflakes, book one in the A Summer Harbor Novel series, which happens to be set during Christmastime. It centers on Eden Davis and her son Micah traveling on a bus, but they must make a stop in Summer Harbor, Maine because of the bad winter weather. To find out, Eden and her son are on the run and need to get faraway from their past as they can.

Needing money, Eden gets a job at a Christmas tree farm that is owned by Beau Callahan, a man that has a bad habit of trying to solve other people's problems. Beau has troubles of his own, including keeping the family business up and running, so meeting a beautiful woman like Eden wasn't in the cards. Romance blossoms between them, but when Eden's past finally catches up with her, Beau might be the only person that can save her.

While I haven't exactly been in the mood to read Christmas novels (though I've reviewed several this year), for some odd reason I liked the cover art to this title. I had read a few books by the author in the past, so I thought I would at least give this one a try. Well, I'm glad that I did s it turns out that Falling Like Snowflakes is pretty decent holiday read. It plays out a like a Harlequin novel, but without the graphic love scenes. Overall, Falling Like Snowflakes is a fast-paced and exciting read.
