Billy's Thoughts:

One of the most popular series on the Food Network is The Pioneer Woman starring and hosted by Ree Drummond. Ree began blogging in 2006 and about a year later she started posting her recipes on there. After appearing on an episode of Throwdown! With Bobby Flay in 2010, where she challenged the celebrity chef to a Thanksgiving cook-off, the Food Network offered Ree her own cooking series, The Pioneer Woman, which debuted in August 2011.

It's been a big year for Ree Drummond as she has launched her own line of cookware and bakeware exclusively in Walmart stores. And she's also recently released her newest cookbook, The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Dinnertime.

Unlike may celebrity cooks/chefs that uses hard-to-find ingredients, Ree's recipes uses ingredients that can be found anywhere, even in smaller towns. The recipes in this cookbook are divided into eleven different chapters/sections - Breakfast for Dinner, Salad for Dinner, Soup for Dinner, Freezer Food, 16-Minute Meals, Pasta Pronto, Comfort Classics, New Favorites, Veggie Sides, Starchy Sides and Quick Desserts.

Considering that I've only had my hands on the cookbook for about a month, I haven’t had enough time to try all the recipes in the cookbook; therefore, I'm only going to list my favorites, which are - Thin Fries, Chicken Soup, Chicken Nachos, Supreme Pizza Burgers and Orange Chicken.

Overall, The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Dinnertime is a well-written cookbook with great recipes and beautiful photos of foods, landscapes and of Ree's family. It would make a great gift for any Pioneer Woman fan.
