Review:

Now available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD is DreamWorks Home on a 2-disc Party Edition. Directed by Tim Johnson, the film the features the talented voice-cast of Jim Parsons, Rihanna, Steve Martin and Jennifer Lopez. Party Edition Extras include: Home in High Definition (Shake Your Boov Thing with Home Party Edition Extras!), Best Party Ever!, Oh's Shake Your Boov Thing, "Feel the Light" Music Video and Lyric Video by Jennifer Lopez, Oh's Boovy Jukebox, Oh's Party Planning Tips, Oh's Costume Party, Short Boovies (This is Being Boov, Almost Home, Testing Lab), Deleted Scenes, Be An Artist! (Draw Oh, Tip, and Pig the Cat), Stars of Home, World of DreamWorks Animation and a Gallery.

The purple aliens called the Boov have been running from a powerful aliens called the Gorg, well, that is until they decide to make Earth their home. The Boov invade our planet and quickly relocates all humans to other parts of the country in "happy towns," while the aliens move into our homes. An unpopular Boov named named Oh (voiced by Jim Parsons) thought this would be a great time to meet new friends, but to his disappointment his homecoming party is a disaster. It seems his email invitations was sent to everyone in the universe, which means the Gorg will eventually know their location.

Consided a trader to his kind, Oh is on the run on planet Earth and his only help of survival is from a teenage girl, Gratuity "Tip" Tucc (voiced by Rihanna), whom barely escaped the relocation invasion, and her cat Pig. Oh agrees to help her travel to France to find information to where her mother was relocated to at the main Boov headquarters. Meanwhile, the Boovs are on the hunt for Oh as only he knows the password to his email account, so they can stop the Gorg from getting the invitation.

Despite received mixed-reviews from critics, film did pretty well at the box-office, earning nearly $400 million worldwide. One of the main complaints from critics was that the alien befriending a human kid plot has been done to death in Hollywood. Nevertheless, Home has some colorful computer-animation and a outstanding voice-cast. The plot could have been written a little better, but the movie is aimed for children and it's more entertaining than other recent computer animation. The Party Edition Blu-ray is loaded with plenty of extras to keep both kids and adults happy. It even has the "Almost Home" short that was in theaters last year. Overall, I thought DreamWorks Home is a fun and heartfelt animation film.
