Billy's Review:

I'm sure almost everyone is looking forward to the Christmas meals in just over a week, but you will most likely regret eating that extra piece of grandma's fudge and drinking the extra cup of eggnog, which is one reasons why dieting and exercising are the two most used New Year's Resolutions every year. Department stores will be having exercising equipment and fitness workout DVDs on sale right after the first of the year, but if you are wanting to start your New Year's Resolution on the 1st, then you should plan ahead and find the best workout programming for you now.

Recently, I had the chance to try the new R.I.P.P.E.D. Total Body Challenge DVD from Acacia, "The One Stop Body Shock" workout. This is the first DVD in the new high-intensity workout program which was created by Terry and Tina Shorter, who have a combined fitness experience of over twenty-five years and are both certified by the American Council of Exercise (ACE) and Fitness Association of America (AFAA).

R.I.P.P.E.D. stands for resistance, intervals, power, plyometrics, endurance, and diet and nutrition. Combined routines in one workout can help someone lose more than 700 calories in less than one hour.

R.I.P.P.E.D. Total Body Challenge is 48 minutes long featuring the following workouts:

Warm-Up (6 min.)
Resistance (7 min.)
Intervals (5 min.)
Power (10 min.)
Plyometrics (5min.)
Endurance (10min.)
Cool Down (5 min.)
Bonus Abs workout (5 min.)

In a world where high price 90-day workout programs are advertised on televisions countless times a day, it is nice to see a workout program that is at an affordable price. The R.I.P.P.E.D. fitness instructors nicely conduct each workout, which there is an optional tutorial before each workout. The set reminds of me of the one from the popular P90X commercials. Like other workouts, you will need a couple pairs of dumbbells. (TIP: Pick the right amount of weights, ones that are not too light, but don't get the ones that are too heavy for you.) If you don't think you're quite up to doing the regular workouts, you are in luck, as there are two participants in each workout doing either a beginners routine or an advanced routine. The workouts change every six to nine minutes, so your body is constantly moving. If you’re not up to a 48 minute challenge, you can play each workout separate, so you can create your own routine. Overall, I think R.I.P.P.E.D. Total Body Challenge is a fun and intense workout program that can help anyone get into shape.
