An apocalypse is upon the world as a meteor crashes into the planet, causing earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanoes to erupt. It seems that only the small town of Brigos Glen has survived the devastation, with blackness covering the once beautiful sky. There is no electricity, causing the people to depend on batteries and generators, but they can only last so long. The elders of the town send out a search party, but they disappeared without a trace.
When all hope was lost, an unknown voice could be heard offering the people a new source of life, therefore bringing The Company into the fold, creating The Plan and giving the town a new source of light. The Company brought in the power and taught the people how to run it.
Over seventy years later, there are now three power companies in the town. Each one must follow The Plan, but two of them want to create their own plan, while the first stays loyal to The Plan. The second wanted to expand the power beyond its reach, and the third wanted to experiment with a new source of power. A young engineer, Sam Mitchell, has heard countless stories about the strangers that helped the town, while going about his routine life. Suddenly, Sam along with five other Brigos Glen residents gets an invitation to meet the mysterious Company and its great leader.
By the dazzling cover, one would think The Company would be a futuristic disaster novel, but instead we get an after the apocalypse story, with a hidden parable. It is somewhat clever how it ties in with the Bible, but there are some boring parts throughout. I never felt there was any depth to the characters, and the plot slowly flowed along, not really giving a decent ending, but setting up for a sequel. Overall, I have mixed feelings about The Company. It is an interesting premise, some readers may like it, and other may not.

About the Author:
Chuck Graham's legal career as an attorney in private practice spanned more
than thirty-one years. He represented many local, national, and international
clients, acquiring intricate knowledge about the often-overlapping structures of
the corporate world. He also worked against those seeking to create racial
division, including the Ku Klux Klan. He has served as a member of the state bar
of Georgia since 1979 and an instructor to attorneys and judges through the
Institute for Continuing Legal Education (ICLE). He received the Medallion of
Appreciation from ICLE.
Chuck is also a speaker and the author of Take the Stand (Broadman
& Holman Publishers, 1996) and the compilations, A Year of
Encouragement (Xulon Press).
In 1997 he founded Ciloa (Christ Is Lord Of All), a ministry devoted to
sharing God’s encouragement with the world and teaching those who follow Him how
to encourage others. Today Chuck serves as executive director and principal
author of A Note of Encouragement, a weekly e-zine reaching 175 countries.
He and Beverly, his wife of thirty-four years, have lived in Lawrenceville,
a suburb of Atlanta, for fourteen years. God has blessed them with three
children. In his free time, Chuck enjoys backpacking and hiking (especially on
the Appalachian Trail), playing the guitar, dabbling in photography, and reading
extensively about the Christian faith.
