With all the Dark Shadows craze, I bought the paperback version of Dark Shadows: The Salem Branch by Lara
Parker last weekend, and I eagerly started reading it. Look for my
review on it next week. I received in the mail this week a hardcover edition of Dark Shadows: Angelique's Descent by Lara Parker, originally written in 1998 and released last week with an all-new final chapter. I also stumbled upon Dark Shadows: The Greatest Episodes Collection: The Best of Barnabas, in which I picked up for under ten dollars. There are only nine episodes on it, but it should satisfy my hunger for Dark Shadows. My grandmother watched it when it was originally aired on ABC in the late 60s. I recall watching a few episodes of the short-lived revival series, and later on watching a few of the original episodes on the Scifi Channel (now known as Syfy).

I found another $2.95 book at Walmart titled The Time Pirate by Ted Bell. It looks like a good read.
When I returned two books to my local library, I glanced at the for sale rack and picked up a book called Desperadoes by Ron Hansen written in 1979. It is a fictional historical novel, telling the story of the Dalton gang from Emmet Dalton's point-of-view.

I haven't been able to find very many good books at the my local thrift shop, but I did get Deadtime Stories: Mirror, Mirror by A.G. Cascone to add to my collection.

Other books in the mail this week were: Purr-fect Recipes for a Healthy Cat by Lisa Shiroff courtesy of Atlantic Publishing Group; The Wind Through the Keyhole: A Dark Tower Novel by Stephen King; Calico Joe by John Grisham; Dracula in Love by Karen Essex; Monster High 4: Back and Deader Than Ever by Lisi Harrison; Black Dawn by Rachel Caine; and The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa.
Question of the week: What is one thing you wish you could tell your favorite author?
My Answer:
Dear R.L. Stine,
Thank you to introducing to the world of horror and mayhem.

I almost met R.L. at a convention in NYC last year, but sadly I attended a day early :( I would have really liked to pick his brain.

Ah, how nostalgic! R.L. Stine's books were my MG books when I was in my elementary years. :) Happy Friday!

Ah, R.L. Stine. Memories. Nostalgia.
I have tried the Dark Tower series 3 times and could never get past book 4. I need to finish. It's like my great white whale.

Hi! New Linky follower hopping on through.
R.L. Stine; I haven't read any of those in forever!
Here's my Follow Friday :)
HAHA. I think "Don't Forget Me!" by R.L.Stine was one of the first books I read voluntarily and bought from my own money back in 2004. (Coming from a 19 yrs old that feels like yesterday, but also like a lifetime ago.)

Please, No Blog Awards. I'm honored to be nominated, but I really don't have time for it.
