Cartoon Heaven, Coffee Talk, a Few Books, and Follow Friday

I thought it would be neat to have a message forum on my blog for other bloggers to post their review, giveaway, etc links. So, this week I created a new page called Coffee Talk. Feel free to post a message on there. Thanks!

I had entered a giveaway on Nelson Clan Blog and actually won, which is the first for me. What were my prizes - 10 DVDs. They are the following: The Best of Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?; Sherlock Holmes in The 22nd Century ...on the Case; Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors Volume 1; The Best of C.O.P.S. Volume 2; Gadget Boy Adventures in History; Stopping Evil Across Time; Heathcliff: King of Beasts; Heathcliff Season One Volume One; Archie's Weird Mysteries; I Know: Animals; Letters & Sounds Volume One and Volume Two. I'm a cartoon fan, especially of the 80s, so I am really excited about winning this. I may give the two latter DVDs to my little cousins.

I forgot to mention last week that I received Guilty Wives by James Patterson and David Ellis in the mail. This week I only received: How to Start and Make a Conversation: How to Talk to Anyone in 30 Seconds or Less by Chris Gottschalk from Atlantic Publishing.

I haven't picked up very many books lately at the thrift store. But I did pick up these a few weeks ago: Mystique by Charlotte Douglas; Wedding Captives by Cassie Miles; Howling in the Darkness by B.J. Daniels; and Full Exposure by Debra Webb.

Q: What is one book that you would be nervous to see a movie adaption of because you think the movie could never live up to the book?

My Answer: Stephen King's The Dark Tower series, which is going to be made into a HBO series.

I've never read that series but I trust HBO! They did Game of Thrones so well, after all.

I haven't read the series but my interest is peaked now that HBO is going to do it!

Ron Howard bought the movie and TV rights several years ago. Originally The Dark Towers was going to be made into three feature films and a series for NBC. Both deals fell through, but HBO picked up last fall. I hope they will stay by the book.

I've been meaning to read any, just any of the Stephen King's books for such a long time. And I still haven't read any, not even one. :(

@Billy Burgess

I went ahead and googled The Dark Tower. The three movies are still planned but with no movie studio has picked it up. HBO picked up the series part.

Hi! I'm a new follower hopping by!

Great answer!
I think as long as the author has a voice and participates in the decisions needed for the movie, the movie will turn out fine.

Please, No Blog Awards. I'm honored to be nominated, but I really don't have time for it.
